Chopsticks

Chopsticks serve 101 uses in our house. Or more. It is by far one of the most used tools in our house. While its primary function is of course an eating utensil, I find myself grabbing for one (or two) daily. I stir my coffee with it, dig things out of small crevices, pry things open, and use it to see if my cakes are done instead of using the traditional toothpick. On this particular occasion, which also was my birthday and we were having my sushi from my favorite place, I decided to introduce the kids to the wonder of the chopstick. Actually I probably wouldn't have given it to them had the people who run the restaurant not tied them together with rubber bands for the kids. I always fear it will turn into a weapon, or instrument of some type of destruction but I was pleasantly surprised at how well they used them. They even wanted to use them to eat the cake. Grandma will be so proud when she comes to visit and sees them in action!
